What to Wear | The #1 Question You Are Dying to Ask

What to wear? is the #1 question I get asked. The answer is simple. Don’t over-complicate it!

When we think boudoir we typically think “lingerie”. Why? because it is ingrained in us to associate the two. But let’s break the rules! If lingerie is not for you, keep reading because I have you covered.

Be You

At the end of the day, your boudoir shoot is all about having fun. If you aren’t having fun, why are we here? I say, if you love to rock Calvin Kleins with a men’s T-shirt – DO IT!  What makes a shoot sexy is you. Simple.

So, with that said let’s focus on the options we have outside of Lingerie, such as that oversized sweater you have hanging in your closet or maybe even your favorite pair of jean shorts.

The point is, I want you to feel your absolute best self! And the way to do that is to be you. Lingerie is not the only option.

Just A Tee

This is one of my favorite options because there are so many ways we can manipulate a cute tank top or white t-shirt.

With that said, I would ask that you do not show up with your favorite old University or College Tee that you dance around the house in, don’t worry girl, we all have one of those. But, let’s leave that one at home.

One of the reasons I LOVE a good t-shirt is, well, have you seen a t-shirt come off? There is nothing sexier than that.

Bra’s & Sets

These are a MUST for your shoot. I always recommend bringing a set.

We want to make sure to stick to basics. I always suggest going with a black bra and panties set. They can be photographed alone or with some of the other pieces you brought.

When shopping for bras, the fit is the absolute most important part. If you are unsure of your bra size, which you likely are – because babe, we all are, then just head into a local lingerie shop and ask if they can size you. Trust me, they will help find the perfect fit for you that feels good and isn’t too tight in the wrong areas.

And if the bra isn’t for you, then be sure to ask about her mini-me, the Bralette.

Sheet Play

I know, this one may seem silly, but bear with me. We can make a sheet look sexier then you think.

This is the perfect accessories to a topless boudoir shoot or if you are feeling extra spicy, for those who want to go full birthday suit, the sheet option is for you.

We can play with it in almost every way you can think of. A wrap around. A cover-up for that certain something you would like to leave to the imagination. Whatever it maybe you want covered up or not – the sheet is your friend.

What I do know is, you will look as amazing as you feel and if that is a sheet over lingerie – I say go for it. And if its no sheet, no lingerie, while cheers to you!
