When it comes to photography, my most frequently asked question has always been “how much will it cost?”
To be honest, every photographer is different. There are so many things to be factored in when it comes to setting your price. From location to experience level, to length of time and how many images you expect to get back – each piece has a price tag. So let’s go over some of these to give you a better idea of how much you can spend on a photography session!
Package Structure
Every photographer will have different options when it comes to their packages. For example, some photographers include an album in every package, and others do not. My boudoir packages include professional hair and makeup, while others do not. Make sure that you don’t make assumptions based on a price listed on a website. Find out what that price includes. If you are comparing photographers, make sure you are comparing the same set of products and services side by side. And don’t be afraid to ask questions! This is an investment and you want to feel like it was money well spent.
Skill Level
This one is so important! Remember, just because you see a handful of photos on a photographer’s site that you love, that doesn’t mean you will see that level of quality throughout a full gallery. Let’s say you find two photographers in your city who are offering the same products and services. But their prices differ by hundreds of dollars. How can that be? Usually, all it comes down to is skill and experience. As with anything, as the quality and artistry of a photographer’s work increases, their pricing does too. The difference between a high price point is that you will likely get many more photos from your shoot that you love than if you’d opted for a low-budget one. The saying “You get what you pay for” is around for a reason!
Location, Location, Location
Do you live in a small town or a metropolis? Depending on how many photographers there are in your area will have a huge impact on the price. Prices for boudoir photography can vary dramatically from city to city. You might find that prices, where you live, are double what people may pay in other cities! No matter where you live, though, you’ll discover that professional, quality photography is going to be a significant investment.
What it all boils down to is personal preference and of course budget! These photos will be something for you to hold on to forever, and the experience with whichever photographer you choose will be great. If you’ve been thinking about doing a boudoir shoot, but just can’t seem to commit I’ve put together a list of reasons and benefits as to why you absolutely should! If you’re ready to book a session, I would love to be in the running. You can always email me with questions!
XOXO,
