I’m just going to say no shoots during Covid-19, ladies. This thing is a big deal, and to be honest, kinda scares the shit out of me, and I kinda hope it scares you enough to take it seriously.
I know we here in AZ are ok, but family and friends in other states are in the thick of it. At least one of my family members have contracted it, all because they didn’t take it seriously.
So until we know more about what’s going on, sadly, I need to postpone sessions until further notice. EEK. I hate even typing that phrase, but it’s so true.
You Don’t Know
So look, love. I’m totally not a scientist. But I do know how viruses work and I hate the little bastards. Often times, we don’t show our symptoms until days after we have the virus in our system, meaning we’ve contaminated others around us with out even knowing.
So, if I have you come to my home, you don’t know… I could possibly be sick and my makeup artist may be sick. And there’s no way to be 100% certain right away.
On the flip side, I 100% trust you ladies, but just coming from your home to my studio, you could have picked it up along the way by simply getting some gas at the gas station.
I’m Tough, I Don’t Mind…
Ok, not to be a complete idiot when I say this, but I think you understand where I’m coming from: I don’t care as much if I get sick, but I definitely care if my family or you and your family do as a result of just not social distancing.
Plus, not to dig on the boys, but when Mama is sick, the world doesn’t stop. I’m STILL in charge here at the house. And with my daughter no longer in school and taking online school, it’s much more difficult to run the house as I’ve added Kindergarten Teacher to my never ending to-do list.
Even If
So, let’s say we are 100% sure you aren’t sick, and me and my staff aren’t sick and my makeup artist and I use masks, gloves, and a heck lot of hand-sanitizer while you’re rocking your boudoir session with me.
That’s amazing to think we can keep doing this, but here’s the sad thing… if others learned that I was still taking clients, other not-so-careful photographers would think it’s ok for them to do the same. They wouldn’t be as careful thus risking themselves and EVERYONE around them.
I would be setting a bad example and I like to believe I’m a role model to many Phoenix Photographers. So I’m just not comfortable breaking the rules even if done carefully.

I hope you understand my mini-rant about no shoots during Covid-19. I suppose the reason I wanted to chat quickly and tell you guys my feelings is that many ladies how still been pleading for me to open up a spot for them during quarantine… Some have even offered hundreds of dollars extra to do it. The answer is no.
I love you all, but that’s why I won’t do it. I care enough to not spread this crazy virus and to hopefully get through this much quicker in the process by social distancing…
On a plus side, trust that when I’m able to open up shop again, it’s going to be amazing! Stay tuned for happy news. 😉
