Are you comfortable in your own skin? Is that something that you can 100% attest to? I sometimes can’t- I’ll be honest.
I’m in my early 30’s now and there is a shit ton of conditioning habits I grew up with that I try to break on a daily basis. I think many of you could agree that you struggle with the same thing.
Conditioning During Childhood
A little behind the scenes for you- when I was growing up, I would watch Mama do 1000 crunches in the morning and rarely eat anything- starving herself to get to that ideal thin frame. She would eat one can of some sort of veggie and consider that her meal… It wasn’t long before I started doing the same thing…I picked up on this insecurity of Mama’s. I know it wasn’t her intention to do this.
Hell, I’ve done it to my little 6 year old girl. I would chat to my husband about calories and how I couldn’t eat anymore because I was over my daily limit. Ellie picked up on it and started saying she couldn’t eat because “It has too many calories, Mommy.” It broke my heart.
I started chatting with Ellie saying it was ok because she was still growing and she needed to eat to stay healthy. It hit me then that I needed to hear that same thing. I needed to eat too.
I’m possibly going on a rant in this post and apologies if that is the case, but I want us to really try to make a goal this year, a goal to be comfortable in your own skin.
Why I’m Sharing this Testimonial
Anyway, I wanted to share Ms. L’s post session questionnaire with you ladies. I ask all my clients to fill one of these out not only to have the opportunity to share them with you, but also so I can see how I’m doing as your boudoir coach and mentor. I want to be sure I’m nailing the experience with all my clients because my goal is to make you all feel like a fucking Goddess “as-is”.
You should be walking out of my studio with a strut in your walk and your head held high because your confidence is off the charts. It doesn’t matter your age, your size, the color of your skin, or relationship status. You’re perfect, lovie. That’s what I want you to discover when you’re with me.
Let’s see what Ms. L had to say…
#1 Booking the Session
What/who made you decide to book a boudoir photo session in Denver?
I wanted to do something special for myself and my fiance before I got married and I thought a boudoir album would make the perfect gift!
How did you hear about and why did you choose Emily Brault?
I found Emily on Google after hours of sifting through tons of photographers. I chose her because I really loved her style of photography. I loved how her photos looked classic yet modern.
#2 Session Experience
Did anything change about the way you see your own beauty/sexuality/sensuality/body confidence as a result of this session?
I’ve never been very skinny, this session made me realize that it’s okay to have some areas with a little extra fluff. I also realized that my body is also very muscular. I feel like a lot of the pictures emphasized muscle tone in various parts of my body.
How did the Colorado boudoir photo session make you feel?
I felt really good after. I felt very comfortable in my own skin which is often something I struggle with.
What specifically was your favorite part of the Denver boudoir experience, and why?
It’s hard to pick just one. I loved having my hair and makeup done. It was the perfect way to “warm up” before taking pictures. I also really loved the space itself. It was so comfy and cozy and I loved how each different area felt like a completely different location. Also I loved working with Emily. She was amazing to work with and made me feel so comfortable and confident.
#3 Post Session
Anything we could have done to make your experience better?
Nope. It was perfect!
If you were to recommend us to your best friend, what would you say?
I’d say that this was so fun and she should definitely come to you guys. (She’s chatting about when I travel to my clients out of state here.) I’d say the quality of the photos and experience is so worth it!
I loved the experience with Ms. L and I truly hope she becomes a repeat offender one day. I love how she took her time to chose her photographer and also how her opinion changed about her body. I’m so happy she found that boost of confidence because that’s 100% what I want you all to feel after your session.
Would you like to take a leap and book your session with me? If you’re hesitant, please reach out and ask me ANY questions you may have. I’m an open book, girl.
I hope to hear from you soon. Until then, stay perfectly as-is and I hope you can say, “I’m comfortable in my own skin.”
XO, EB
