Waxing for Boudoir- Yes or No?

Why You Should Skip the Pre-Shoot Wax (Trust Me on This One!)

Alright, ladies, let’s have a little real talk about something that comes up way more often than you’d think before boudoir sessions: to wax, or not to wax?

I get it — you want to feel smooth, confident, and ready to slay your session. But before you go scheduling that wax appointment the day before your shoot, let me lovingly (and with zero judgment) say: put down the phone.

Here’s the thing: unless you’re already a seasoned waxing pro and your skin is used to it, that “smooth goddess” plan might backfire.

Your skin needs time to adapt.

If your body isn’t used to waxing, it might not react with a soft, glowing “thank you.” More like… red bumps, irritation, and a few surprise blemishes in the most inconvenient places.

Ingrowns — the ultimate party crashers.

Waxing for boudoir can sometimes cause ingrown hairs to show up fashionably late, right after your session. They’re not the kind of guests we want in your photos (or your self-care routine).

Here’s the good news:

If your skin isn’t used to waxing, waxing for boudoir is a no no. Seriously — no stress! A little basic lady-scaping is totally fine. Seriously. I can easily edit out stubble, so please don’t feel like you have to go full “baby dolphin mode” before your session.

Your comfort and confidence are so much more important than a perfectly smooth bikini line. The last thing I want is for you to be uncomfortable, itchy, or red on shoot day — we’re here for empowerment and fun, not razor burn regret.

So if you’re already a regular waxer, go for it! Your skin’s probably like, “we’ve got this.” But if it’s your first time… maybe let’s save that adventure for another day.

Trust me, you’ll look amazing either way — because confidence never has stubble. 😉
